چکیده

High-speed transimpedance amplifiers (TIAs) used at the front end of optical fiber receivers present design challenges in the form of trade-offs between input noise current, speed, transimpedance gain, power dissipation, and supply voltage. This transimpedance amplifier in 0.6μm CMOS exhibits 4.5pA/√Hz average input noise current, 622Mb/s data rate, and 8.7kΩ transimpedance gain while dissipating 30mW from a 3V supply.

A 6.03 GHz Low Power Transimpedance Amplifier TIA in CMOS 0.18μm Technology

Abstract— A low power and high gain transimpedance amplifier (TIA) in 0.18μm CMOS technology is presented. TIA with better performance is realized by reducing the effects of input parasitic capacitor. A negative admittance output stage enables the transimpedance gain and the bandwidth to be improved. Cadence tools were conducted for this proposed TIA by utilizing RF transistor model based on 0....

A 455-Mb/s MR Preamplifier Design in a 0.8- m CMOS Process

In this paper, we present a CMOS preamplifier for use with magnetoresistive (MR) read elements in disk drives. The performance of the CMOS design is competitive with the more expensive current generation of BiCMOS MR preamplifiers. The measured gain for the preamplifier is 43 dB and the measured 3-dB bandwidth is greater than 273 MHz corresponding to a 455-Mb/s data rate. Likewise, the measured...

Programmable Low-Power Low-Noise Capacitance to Voltage Converter for MEMS Accelerometers

In this work, we present a capacitance-to-voltage converter (CVC) for capacitive accelerometers based on microelectromechanical systems (MEMS). Based on a fully-differential transimpedance amplifier (TIA), it features a 34-dB transimpedance gain control and over one decade programmable bandwidth, from 75 kHz to 1.2 MHz. The TIA is aimed for low-cost low-power capacitive sensor applications. It ...
